What does Missouri law say about sports betting?
Legal statewide since 12:00 a.m. on 2025-12-01, after voters approved Amendment 2 on 2024-11-05. Bettors must be physically in Missouri to place a wager. Source: Missouri Gaming Commission - Official Launch of Sports Wagering (press release, 2025-12-01), checked October 6, 2026.
- Regulator. The Missouri Gaming Commission regulates sports wagering. The sports wagering amendment in the Missouri Constitution (Article III, section 39(g)), approved by voters on 2024-11-05, has the Commission issue the retail and mobile licenses and defines it as the Missouri Gaming Commission. - Minimum age. The minimum age to place a sports wager in Missouri is 21. The Missouri Gaming Commission says patrons must be at least 21 to set up an account and wager, and the constitutional amendment bars licensees from offering wagering to under-21s. - In-person and tribal rules. Missouri's mobile licenses go to the owners of excursion gambling boats (casinos), to professional sports teams (or their designated operators), and to up to two direct operator applicants.
