What is DraftKings and who regulates it?

DraftKings is a state-licensed online sportsbook. SlateProof tracks it on equal terms with the 9 other venues it covers, and it appears on this site wherever its own app is available.

A sportsbook is regulated state by state, not by a federal agency. In Arizona that regulator is the Arizona Department of Gaming; in Arkansas it is the Arkansas Racing Commission, and each state sets its own rules for age, advertising and bet types.

What our availability data says about it: “Online sportsbook only (not retail, Pick6 or DK Predictions). 18+ in DC, KY, NH and WY. The only online sportsbook in New Hampshire and Oregon. Arkansas since 2026-03-20, Missouri since 2025-12-01.”

In which states is DraftKings available?

DraftKings operates in 28 of 51 jurisdictions (27 states and DC) as of October 5, 2026. Where it is not listed, it is not licensed or has not launched there; the state pages show what is available instead.

It is the only tracked sportsbook in Maine, New Hampshire and Oregon.

It is not listed in 23 jurisdictions; the state-by-state table shows what is available there instead.

Availability checked October 5, 2026; the next recheck is due October 16, 2026. Where you are when you place the bet is what counts, not where you live. Sources: sharpfootballanalysis.com, oddsassist.com, sbcamericas.com.

What age do you need to use DraftKings?

The minimum age is 21 in the states where DraftKings is listed. The exceptions our data lists are District of Columbia, Kentucky, New Hampshire and Wyoming, where the minimum is 18.

The age that applies is the one in the venue’s own app for your state; it can be higher than a state’s legal minimum.

What does it cost to bet at DraftKings?

DraftKings charges no separate fee in SlateProof’s fee table; its margin (the vig) is in the price. Both sides of an even market at -110 imply 52.38%, which add up to 104.76%, so the book keeps about 4.76% of a balanced market. Fees last checked October 6, 2026.

Which promotions does SlateProof track for DraftKings?

SlateProof prices 5 existing-customer promotions for DraftKings and one sign-up offer every cycle from a dated catalog. Many tokens are targeted, so your account may see different amounts.

Amounts are the catalog’s, not a promise that your account is offered them. A figure marked “assumed” is our own typical value, not one the venue publishes. Bonus bets usually return only the winnings, not the stake. The offer in the app is the one that counts.

How do bets at DraftKings settle when something unusual happens?

A hedge or arbitrage is only as good as the way both venues settle the odd cases, so SlateProof discloses these rules next to every arbitrage it shows.

  • A player who does not play. A sportsbook voids and refunds the bet, but an exchange does not: Kalshi settles at the last fair price and other exchanges may grade it No.
  • A push on a whole-number line. The stake is refunded, so a hedge between two sportsbooks pays $0 in that case; with an exchange leg SlateProof blocks the mix, because exchanges may not refund a push.
  • A tie in a period moneyline. SlateProof records DraftKings as refunding a tie in a two-way period moneyline, so a hedge between two books that both refund it pays $0 in that case.
  • Limits. Sportsbooks often cap prop stakes, limit accounts and void erroneous lines.

These are the cases SlateProof’s arbitrage checks flag. The venue’s own rules are the final word, and a locked profit holds only if every leg is accepted and settles as expected.

How does SlateProof use DraftKings?

SlateProof uses DraftKings as a place to bet and a source of promotions, under the same rules as every other venue.

  • Its own price never sets its own fair value: each quote is screened against a fair value built without it and the books that copy it, and no venue is the main one.
  • It carries no weight as a reference price; it is a place to bet and a source of promotions, and a hedge can go to it or from it within the accounts you hold.
  • SlateProof never places a bet or a trade for you.

Terms, your state’s availability and your own offers are final on the official site: official DraftKings site. SlateProof is not affiliated with DraftKings and earns nothing from a click.
